S TWO = Carbon Arch + Alloy Top Stay
S THREE = Alloy Arch + Alloy Top Stay
What are my mounting options?
Axle + Fast-Release Dropouts: We ship you a Tailfin Axle to swap out for your own, our Fast-Release Dropouts allow you to mount/dismount the rack from your bike in seconds.
Frame Mounts + Fast-Release Dropouts: We ship you Frame Mount Adaptors which attach to your bike’s frame mounts, our Fast-Release Dropouts allow you to mount/dismount the rack from your bike in seconds.
Frame Mounting: You screw the rack directly onto your frame mounts, without a fast-releasing mechanism.
Which Axle do I need?
If you need help figuring out which axle type to use, please use our guide posted here as a reference.
Most Bikes Use a Quick-release Axle (Pictured above-right)
Use the guide below ONLY if your bike uses a Thru-Axle. If you’re unsure – see above.
Thru Axle 12x142mm 1.0mm Pitch
*for Open frames you will need an axle cap also, found HERE
Thru Axle 12x142mm 1.0mm Pitch – Speed Release (this is a double lead axle)
Thru Axle 12x142mm 1.5mm Pitch
Thru Axle 12x142mm 1.75mm Pitch
RAT Systems (RAT Thru Axle 12x142mm), you will need to order a 1.5mm thru axle, along with this adaptor part.

Thanks for your request for feedback, I purchased the S-Series Carbon/Alloy rack and bag set in 2020 as part of my set-up for an upcoming bike packing adventure across Europe and Asia. My priorities at the outset where to have a saddlebag concept that was a) aerodynamic, b) stable and reduced side-sway; b) large enough to fit most of my kit to minimise requirement for having to carry too much gear upfront.
I am more of a cycling enthusiast than a touring cyclist, so the tailfin seemed to tick all of these boxes and would ultimately support me in achieving decent mileage on a daily basis whilst minimising the effects of wind resistance. What persuaded me in the end was the wind tunnel testing that was carried out and so ultimately decided on an setup where I carry the majority of my kit in a stable bag at the rear removing weight and bulk from the front and steering assembly. There is a slight weight disadvantage to a normal saddlebag concept, but my view was that I would gain more in efficiency, stability and aerodynamics to offset the extra grams. I realise everyone's objectives are different, but this was my thinking behind my decision.
The pack arrived with everything that was needed to assemble the kit and I have recently installed it on my bike and tested it on a 80km ride and so far met expectation. Can hold a decent pace without feeling the effects of excessive drag and importantly, no side-sway. I use a thru axle and the connections are very good and the bag quality is high. There was no rubbing against my leg when cycling.
The only area I would provide feedback relates to the assembly and instructions. Firstly, the instructions on the web could probably be tweaked - to include more details on assembly. I also had some trouble attaching the brackets to the bag for 2 reasons - 1) the larger, rear bracket seems to have changed design and its difficult to get a hex key onto the bolt and ensuring that you are not cross threading it. I found that by removing some of the blue locking glue from the bolt made it easier to insert and hope that after a few attempts I havn't done any damage to the thread as it was quite difficult to make the initial fit and then screw in. I also had some trouble locking down the u-shaped hinging pins at the side as the machining on the plastic insert was not consistent on one side, so needed to level it off to make it fit flush enough to snap the u-pin on.
These are small gripes and overall I'm giving a 5* as i like supporting new emerging businesses that have high quality products. Some small tweaks to assembly instructions and triple checking quality assurance will make your product very successful as I think you have a competitive advantage.
This should be the gold standard of racks and trunk bags for commuting or adventuring. I was a little apprehensive at first because of the cost, but now that I’ve been using this system, it is well worth it. Beautiful design makes this rack and bag look very sleek. I ordered the full carbon fibre rack. It is solid and quiet; even when loaded up, I don’t notice it’s there very much at all. The bag comes off the rack in literally a second. The waterproof bag holds a little or a lot easily due to its roll top dry bag design that is easily and quickly adjustable. I also love the side direct access pocket to get into the main compartment without having to open it completely. The carbon fibre rack goes on and off the bike in seconds with the well designed and secure quick release system. I bought extra pegs so I can easily swap it between several bikes. Bottom line: This rack and bag system is a high end piece of kit that is well worth the money.
